I’m excited to be sharing the alphabroder pricing story at this year’s MindShare virtual conference, along with my colleague Daniel Hogancamp, vice president, commercial strategy. Together we’ll walk through the unique dynamics of the imprintable apparel and accessories industry, the challenges of pricing effectively in such a complex environment, and how our partnership with Zilliant has greatly improved the customer experience here at alphabroder.
We have a relatively lean pricing group here at alphabroder, and our legacy processes of manual price-setting and one-off negotiations were slowing down our sales process and adding friction to our customers’ interactions with us. We knew we needed to improve, but with hundreds of thousands of SKUs and customers of all sizes and types (all being serviced through a number of different channels), it was near impossible with our legacy processes. We needed to price in a way that drastically reduced customer exception requests and to be able to respond to sales more quickly when negotiations are necessary.
After a diagnostic proved just how much opportunity existed in our business, we partnered with Zilliant and brought in Zilliant Price IQ®. The resulting solution has completely transformed our approach to pricing – rather than having to rely on “gutfeel”, our Pricing & Sales team have a suite of tools that allow us to provide better, faster, and highly tailored service to enhance our customer experience.
